The Author
Pam Van Hook is a God-gifted communicator and teacher. Facing It is her first book, and is drawn from her personal experience. In 1999 Pam, a wife, mother of three and grandmother of two, was leading a healthy, vibrant life when she was suddenly stricken with a variety of severe and unexplainable medical conditions. Pam is now physically handicapped having lost the use of her right eye and can no longer walk without the use of a walker. While now more than 9 years later Pam’s medical condition has not improved, God’s faithfulness and His work in her life has brought her peace and served as a testimony to thousands.
A leader and Bible study teacher for more than 16 years at Beaverton Christian Church, Pam’s passion is speaking to groups of 10 to 1,000, about her faith and about the practical help contained in Facing It and the companion volume, The Facing It Journal. Pam has a Bachelor’s Degree in Speech from Cal State Fullerton, practical training as a “Precepts” teacher, and many years experience as mentor and teacher. She brings a lively, humorous, informative, interactive, and uplifting message to all audiences, but especially to those having to FACE IT.
Pam and her husband, Jim, live in Beaverton, Oregon. With the publication of this book, Pam has entered a new phase of life, reaching a wider audience through Pam Van Hook Ministry, and as a nationwide speaker. Her emphasis is on applying the principles in Facing It to all of life’s challenges.
